Other Activities

Based in the heart of the Southern Alps, the area surrounding the Camping du Brec is packed with outdoor adventures.

For river paddlers, the campsite is within an hour’s drive of many of the southern rivers – Gorges de Daluis, Vésubie, Tinée, Esteron, Verdon – with courses for all levels. The campsite lake itself is at the start and finish for courses on the Var and Coulomp rivers. It is also very handy for practising those Eskimo rolls!

There are plenty of hiking opportunities at Camping du Brec with the GR4 trail running through Entrevaux. Families and seasoned hikers will enjoy the diversity of the walks nearby, ranging from the Mediterranean hinterland to the lakes and passes of the high mountains (with ample marmot spotting)! Routes and maps are available at the campsite reception.

Cyclists have plenty of choice with the wide variety of well-maintained road circuits (the Gorges de Daluis and Cians, the Champs, Cayolle and Bonnette passes to mention but a few). The experienced mountain biker will also be happy exploring the surrounding mountains or hurtling down the tracks of Valberg, Roubion, Val d’Allos…

For those who love climbing and vertical activities, there are bolted (equipped) limestone and sandstone cliffs very nearby – two climbing sites just 2 km from the campsite, the Grés d’Annot, with its bouldering festival, just 15 mins away. Or why not try the adrenaline-rush via-ferrata of Puget-Théniers, 15 mins away…

Motorcyclists will ‘live the dream’ riding through the Southern Alps with their mountain passes, deep canyons, plateaus, lavender plains, Mediterranean coastline… To be back at the campsite just in time for a refreshing dip in the lake (or for a refreshing beer by the lake)!

The family-friendly, high altitude resort of Valberg, just 45 minutes from the Camping du Brec, is a great place for all the family to enjoy a day of hiking, fishing, tobogganing, adventure tree climbing, mountain biking and even golf.

Two horse riding centres for beginners and experienced riders are located 15 and 25 minutes from the campsite.

Enjoy paragliding at St André les Alpes (30 mins from the campsite) with an incredible view over the Lac de Castillon. The Lac de Castillon, ‘the big blue lake’, is also a fun day out with an inflatable water park, pedalos, kayaks, paddle boards, motorboats and sailing boats to hire.

And for the adrenaline junkies, take a bungee jump from the Pont de la Marié that spans over the dramatic Gorges de Daluis (70m of jumping only 25 mins from the campsite).
